A final attempt to bring "organized baseball occured in 1999 when the "Grays Harbor Rain" was established by the Pacific International League... a summer collegiate league that plays in and around the Seattle area. The team which finished at 7-20 on the year didn't do well enough to continue on and lasted only the one season. There has been talk however that the WCBL... the Western Collegiate Baseball League which like the PIL is a very successful Collegiate Summer League may soon place a team in Olympic Stadium. Whether professional baseball can actually survive here is certainly in question. A collegiate summer league team however, with the right marketing... should thrive. We certainly hope so as this grand wooden ballpark is now a permanent part of the Hoquiam landscape thanks to us... (we're so modest). A ballpark this stunning deserves its own baseball team.
