When Con Jones Park opened in 1921 "Third Lanark" the British Soccer touring company would play one game here at Con Jones and one at Brockton Oval. It was the beginning of what would be a profitable venture for Con Jones. Newcastle United and other famed British soccer teams would come to the British Columbia to play the "BC All-Stars". Con Jones' venture turned out quite well and he made a fine profit on soccer alone. There was also plenty of other sports he could bring to his stadium including rodeos.
