When Con Jones Park opened in 1921 "Third Lanark" … the British Soccer touring company would play one game here at Con Jones and one at Brockton Oval. It was the beginning of what would be a profitable venture for Con Jones. Newcastle United and other famed British soccer teams would come to the British Columbia to play the "BC All-Stars". Con Jones' venture turned out quite well and he made a fine profit on soccer alone. There was also plenty of other sports he could bring to his stadium including rodeos.
