Con Jones was a smart businessman… smart enough to know when he was should cut his losses. Con Jones contacted Bob Brown after the Maple Leafs' second season about perhaps taking back the franchise and back to where they always belonged… Athletic Park. Bob Brown had since begun working with the famed brewmaster Emil Sick who already had an excellent baseball franchise in the Seattle Rainiers (named after his brand of beer… not the mountain). They played in the future Seattle Pilots MLB ballpark dubbed "Sicks Stadium". Together Brown and Sick bought the Vancouver Maple Leafs … brought them back to Athletic Park and renamed them after Emil Sick's brewery as the "Vancouver Capilanos". For more on the rest of the history of this team… see the Athletic Park gallery.
