Northwest League
Short Season Single-A Stadiums
Welcome to the Northwest League... the Pacific Coast counterpart to the NY-Penn League. The Northwest League is short season, meaning it doesn't begin until late June. The reason for the late start, is because the rosters are staffed by players drafted in the June Major League draft of collegiae players. The draft is usually in mid-June after most NCAA teams are finished for the season. After these players are drafted, this is usually their first taste of professional baseball... the bucolic ballparks of the Pacific Northwest.
