The difference between the two stadiums became immediately apparent… but you had to see this for yourself, to understand why a new facility was necessary when Busch Stadium II had become a good enough ballpark. That thing you had to see for yourself is the fact that… you could "see" … everything. No longer was the city hidden behind the towering outfield bleachers. You were no longer in isolation within the confines of the ballpark. You
  could now view the world.  You could see the essence of St. Louis. You could the downtown skyscrapers; you could see the construction cranes in action. In many ways it was the same in other cities as well that would eventually build anew like St. Louis. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati for example, allowed you to see the rivers and bridges that made those cities so very special.
