Lafayette Louisiana's longstanding tradition of professional and collegiate baseball
dates back to the 1930's when the Class C Evangeline League's Lafayette White
Sox (St. Louis Browns) began playing at Parkman Park (seating capacity 3000)
and then moved to Brahman Stadium (seating capacity 3200). The Lafayette Bulls
followed and continued to play until 1953, when a new stadium was built on the
University of Louisiana campus. |
