One reason for the failure may be the ballpark itself. Parade Field is hardly a professional ballpark (though because of the Millers, it can make that claim now). It is really an erector set stadium that could probably be bought at the local home depot. It features no bathrooms and according to Stew Thornley, led to many players using the back outfield ivy when the needs struck. Fans would need to go to the bathrooms at the facility on the other side of the parking lot.
