During the 1930's the Works Progress Administration provided jobs for the millions of un-employed workers of the Great Depression. The goal was simply to build things... things that could help a community come together and create something they could not only be proud of but put dinner on the table as well. One of the most common creations that Franklin Delano Roosevelt's WPA contracted for, were ballparks. Stunning bucolic, beautiful ballparks that to this day... no one can seem to re-capture the beauty of, no matter how
many "retro parks" they try to build in reverence.
