The fact is, you can't instill the feeling of true history into a "new building"... you can't recreate that sense of aura, and in a ballpark like Don McBride Stadium... well you can feel that history everywhere. Built in 1936. McBride Stadium allowed Richmond a new home for which to host professional baseball ... something it had not done since the Richmond Roses played for just 1 season at Exposition Park in 1930 which had burned down to the ground in 1935.
