An example of how this has played out in recent history… when the Washington Nationals moved into RFK Stadium, that ballpark and Washington D.C. in general is only 45 minutes from Baltimore's Camden Yards… thus it is well within the radius of the Orioles and Baltimore did indeed invoke it's territorial rights. In the end, a compromise was made and the Nationals were allowed to move into Washington D.C.. In return, the Nationals had to give up all of their rights to their own Television media (a package worth million of dollars). The Baltimore Orioles now own their rights and are in charge of broadcasting the Nationals games (and if you're wondering if they kept games from being aired to spite the new team... the Orioles did indeed do just that). The Nationals are now the only team that doesn’t own their own media rights.
