The Grand Rapids Chicks would take over the pro circuit playing in South Field, before they too moved over to Bigelow Field. The Chicks would continue to play even when the men came back home and professional "affiliated baseball" came back to Grand Rapids. The Michigan State League didn't survive the war effort. The League wasn't renewed after the men returned home. Grand Rapids turned its attentions to the restart of the Central League and placed a new team called the Grand Rapids Jets within the Class A League. The Jets would play for the duration of the short lived Central League as members of the Chicago Cubs organization.
