The League would only last 2 seasons due to World War II, but that didn't stop professional
baseball from continuing on in Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids would become
home to the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. The AAGPBL was
a league that featured only female players since any man fit to play pro baseball
had gone over to fight the war. A movie was recently released called "A League
Of Their Own" telling the story about this great moment in baseball history. |
