During the late 1980's, Florida and Arizona began seeing new ballparks being built for Spring Training. Major League players wanted amenities closer to what they were accustomed to when the team broke camp. As these new mini- Major stadiums began to pop up, it became apparent that Minor League ball, as well... didn't have to mean "bush league style ballparks". These new Spring Training facilites were the same size as any Minor Lg. park... but they had all the luxury of the Majors and kept all the intimacy of the Minors.
