During the late 1980's, Florida and Arizona began seeing new ballparks being built
for Spring Training. Major League players wanted amenities closer to what they
were accustomed to when the team broke camp. As these new mini-Major stadiums
began to pop up, it became apparent that Minor League ball, as well... didn't
have to mean "bush league style ballparks". These new Spring Training facilites
were the same size as any Minor League park. They also had all the luxury of the
Major Leagues while keeping the intimacy of the Minors. |
