Victory Field II opened during the mid-point of the 1996 Indianapolis Indians season. The Indians had begun the season at Bush Stadium (aka Perry Field / Victory Field I) until July 11th 1996, when they played their inaugural game here… losing to the Oklahoma City 89ers by a score of 5-3. Victory Field II is one of the largest Minor League Ballparks in America. The moniker Victory Field "II" is due to the fact that for a period of time, Bush Stadium was named Victory Field. This ballpark is not in any way associated with
that ballpark which is still standing as of this writing but is expected to be demolished by 2014.
