Buffalo does believe that it can take on a Major League team for many reasons... one being support. Comparing when the San Diego Padres were "promoted" to the Major Leagues, or the Seattle Pilots (or Mariners) or Atlanta when the Braves moved to from Milwaukee or the Browns to Baltimore or the A's or Royals to Kansas City or Denver getting the Rockies or Phoenix getting the Diamondbacks... none of the Minor League teams that were playing in these cities were drawing significant enough numbers to warrant having a Major League franchise. Certainly they weren't drawing in the millions as a Minor League team. That's because a Minor League team has only drawn over a million fans in a single season... "twice in the entire history of Minor League Baseball". The all time attendance record would be the Louisville Coloniels who drew 1.05 million to the massive Fairgrounds Stadium in 1983.
