The new baseball stadium was far more intimate than the old Rockpile as the stadium capacity dropped from 46,500 to somewhere between 17,000 and 21,000 (this ballpark can be easily expanded with extra seating in the outfield for special events). This stadium however was built to be rapidly and permanently expanded to nearly 40,000. This upper silver roof is designed to be removed and the girders underneath were made to hold, another entire grandstand. This was done because Buffalo has been under consideration for a Major League franchise for many years now. They have proven that at this baseball park, the city of Buffalo will support their Bisons with the highest attendance ever recorded by a Minor League team.
