. In the earlier days of Rochester Baseball, two versions of Culver Field would be home to many of the Rochester International League teams. Both incarnations of Culver Field though would produce tragedy in one form or another with the 1st version burning to the ground and the 2nd version collapsing, injuring dozens. With lawsuits coming from every which way, the Rochester Bronchos sold the property to the Gleason Works. Without any delay or break in season a new ballpark would be built for Rochester and would serve the city for 20 years. The new Bay Street Ball Grounds or Ballpark came alive in 1908.
