Independent Leagues Heartland League/North Atlantic League |
These leagues actually, have no affiliation with the Major Leagues at all. They are
independently run baseball leagues that produce a very high level of play, and
many contain ballparks that are sometimes better then those in AA ball. They're
comprised of former Major League and Minor League players as well as college
players looking to be looked at. Even though there are no major league affiliations,
players will go back and forth from the majors to the indy's and back.
Recent examples are Jose Canseco, Kerry Lightenberg & Darryl Strawberry. |
