Grant Park grew significantly stronger as a ballpark as more and more Minor League teams made this their spring training home... with concrete replacing much of the wooden structure over time (as you see here when it was completed in 1934). Compared to the current ballpark which sits on this site... Florida Auto Exchange Stadium aka Dunedin Stadium, Grant Field was several thousand smaller in capacity. Despite that however, this little ballpark would be the Spring Home of the Toronto Blue Jays for over a decade as the Blue Jays called this their only Spring home from 1977 until 1989 when it was demolished to make way for their new ballpark.
