The Mid-Missouri Mavericks can trace its origins in the Frontier League back to 1994 when they were known as the Newark Buffaloes (later the Newark Bison), and played at Don Edwards Stadium... a little ballpark in Newark Ohio. In 1996, they then moved to Kalamazoo Michigan's to become known as the Kalamazoo Kodiaks. The gypsy team then picked up and moved to London Ontario's historical Labatt Park in 1999... to Thurman Munson Stadium in Canton Ohio in 2002 and finally settling here in Taylor Stadium in 2003 where they would spend the next 3 years before going bankrupt and dropping out of the league completely.
