The ballfield of Mayor's Riverfront Park has been the home for professional, semi-pro, amateur and collegiate baseball in Kalamazoo since the early 1920's. The grandstand however, was built behind homeplate in 1963. It was a small concrete shell, that aluminum seats were added to. In 1995 a huge aluminum grandstand was built on top of it, doubling its size while aluminum bleachers were added stretching down each line.
