In 1995, the independent minor league baseball boom was just beginning. The Texas Louisiana League, North Central League and Northern League had burst onto the scene in 1994 and were each in their second seasons. The Great Central League had just completed its first season and was the first to prove that independent baseball could very much be a losing effort.
