The St. Lucie Mets would win the Florida State League Championship again in 1996 and 1998. It was in between those two seasons that the Mets saw a lot of their future talent. In 1997 Terrance Long hit 29 doubles, 8 Hrs and hit .251. Preston Wilson slugged 11 homers while hitting .245. Octavio Dotel also made an appearance going 5-2 with a 2.52 ERA. The big home run hitter showed up in 1999, when Ty Wiggenton slammed 21 home runs while batting .292. The power continued in 2000 when Earl Snyder hit 25 and Robert Stratton hit 29 home runs. (Though Neither would make a significant Major League impact).
