The exterior of Tradition Field is probably the most dramatically different thing about this ballpark. Thomas J. White Stadium had a very basic concrete entryway. The press boxes that are in place today right above the rim of the grandstand, were just ... holes. This lovely tiered picnic area down the left field line with several rows of permanent seating parallel to the ballfield, was nothing more than 16 rows of metal slat bleachers. To be honest... except for the roof... there was nothing at all special about this stadium before 2004.
