When the St. Lucie Mets moved here from Lynchburg's City Stadium in 1988, it was definately a homecoming. With a place to finally hang their hat permanently, they were able to concentrate on winning. In 1988 they did just that. Led by Tim Bogar (.275), pitcher Kip Gross (13-9 2.62), and brief appearances by Rick Aguilera, Todd Hundley and Kevin Tapani... the Mets went all the way winning the Florida State League Championship in their very first season of existance.
