Normally we bemoan when teams turn their back on their historic little ballparks of the past, for the modern superficial stadiums of today. Not this time. In fact, Charlotte County Stadium came into the Rangers' timeline about 20 years too late in our opinion. With most new teams building new facilities here and in Arizona, Pompano Municipal found it difficult getting new tenants. In fact, no one would replace the Rangers.  Pompano Beach had completed its lifecycle as a Major League spring training ballpark in 1987. 26 consecutive seasons... it was certainly something to be proud of, (no matter how un-explainable).
