The Senators didn't really care about not being able to train at Tinker Field because this Washington Senators had absolutely nothing to do with the previous Senators franchise that had existed from 1901-1960. This team was as new as the Angels or the Mets and Colt 45's (Astros) who came in a year later. They were a new team looking for a place to set up camp. The Angels being in L.A.'s Wrigley Field, set up camp at the Palm Springs Stadium (aka the California Polo Grounds). The Senators meanwhile stayed on the east coast and decided to move near Miami.
