The Miami Marlins Advanced Single-A team had been struggling to bring anyone to Bobby Maduro Stadium to come see them. The team sold its ownership to celebrities Bill Murray and Jimmy Buffet who tried to create some interest in the fledgling franchise. They even changed the name of the team from the Marlins to the Miracle. The Miracle weren't much of a miracle. Not even enough so to attract an affiliation... something the team hadn't had since the Padres left way back in 1985. With the considerations that Miami Bobby Maduro Stadium was simply at the end of its lifecycle, the Miracle left that ballpark in 1988.
