A few more Pompano Beach Mets would make it to the Major Leagues over the next few seasons... Hank Webb, Benny Ayala, Joe Nolan and Tommy Moore. Nino Espinosa would go 8-6 with a 4.15 ERA in 1972, and future Mets mainstay... backup catcher Ron Hodges, would hit 15 home runs and bat .256. The Mets pulled out after their 5 year PDC came to an end after the 1973 season. Pompano Beach would go back to just being the spring home for the Texas Rangers for a couple of seasons... that was until the Chicago Cubs pulled out of Wickers Stadium in Key West.
