In the Mets miracle year of 1969, they wanted to return to the FSL once again, but this time stay awhile... and not bounce around. They settled on this ballpark, signing a 5 year long PDC with Pompano Municipal Stadium. The Mets were hopeful that a few of the players on this team could come up soon and help them in the Majors. Luckily some did, including one in particular on this inaugural 1969 team. First Baseman John Milner would bat an awesome .354 in 65 at bats with 3 homers. Future Mets/Braves relievers Danny Friscella and Buzz Capra (8-2 2.68 ERA) pitched for the '69 Pompano Beach Mets.
