The Senators found a place to play near Miami at a little Municipal Stadium built in 1954, in Pompano Beach. Pompano Municipal hadn't ever had professional baseball before, and since the Senators were obviously not at all picky, this was going to be their new spring home. Many ballclubs when first setting up shop will go for a simple ballpark and then migrate to a more sophisticated facility a few years later. Not the Senators. This was their home and they would stay here for the rest of their existance.
