The Natchez Indians moved out of Natchez in 1948 and into Lafayette. The new team
was called the Lafayette Bulls, and they would play at a new stadium called
"Brahman Stadium" until 1954, when Clark Field was built. Clark Field would
serve as a combination home for both collegiate and professional baseball, and
it would be a multipurpose stadium, with a football style grandstand and pressbox
in the outfield (which gave this stadium some pretty strange dimensions). |
