It may sound like catch phrase… an "enduring classic", but Bringhurst Field is the epitome of what that actually means. This ballpark has "endured" for several generations besides being one of the last all wooden ballparks still in existence today … and in a land where it not only has the threat of fire, but of the savage Bayou weather. That said, this ballpark is starting to show its age as this part of the grandstand has been cut off from use by the public. The entire ballpark hasn't been condemned… yet. But parts of it are and one of the greatest surviving ballparks of the 1930's may be destined for the wrecking ball if we aren't very very careful.
