Unfortunately, the Quebec Provincial League wasn't very successful, and came to an end after its one and only season in 1940. The Renards would win the playoffs, officially becoming the QPL's one and only championship team. Trois Rivieres however didn't have any problem filling the void. In 1941, the new Renards signed up with the Class C Canadian-American (Can-Am) League. The Trois Rivieres Renards would remain unaffiliated and operated as a co-op team to the Can-Am League.
