The Boston Red Sox originally held their Double-A camp at Beehive Field, having moved there from beautiful vintage Muzzy Field in nearby Bristol CT. By the early-90's there was much talk about replacing the relatively new Beehive Field with one of these "super retro" ballparks. It wasn't easy, trying to explain why a 9 year old ballpark was completely "out of date". The Red Sox gave up the fight, and instead moved into one of those "super retro" ballparks in Trenton New Jersey.
