Before the 1981 season began, Milwaukee would pull its AA franchise out of Holyoke and move to El Paso's adobe constructed Dudley Field, where they would remain for 18 years. The vacancy would be filled by a team on the west coast. The Angels swapped their Double-A El Paso home of 8 years with the Milwaukee Brewers and were now a member of the Eastern League. The team led by Dennis Rasmussen and future Gold Glove Outfielder Gary Pettis, would bring Holyoke it's second professional championship.
