The new "Glens FallsTigers" played mediocre baseball here in 1986, and drew 70,000 fans. By 1987 they began to take a dive into the basement but managed to pick up a bit in attendance as the team drew 79,000, despite an awful year. Chris Hoiles (13 HR, .276) and Doug Strange (13 HR, .302) would become the first two hitters to have a decent career from the G.F. Tigers. Hoiles would become Baltimore's main catcher for 11 years and hit over 20 homers in a season 3 times in the MLB. Strange meanwhile became a 9 year MLB journeyman playing for 7 different MLB teams. There would be one G.F. Tiger player however, who would make an incredible impact on Major League Baseball... as a pitcher.
