With independent baseball giving up on East Field, things looked as bleak as could be for East Field. Then suddenly... everything came together. The New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) took over the ballpark and placed a new team... the Glens Falls Golden Eagles, into its confines. The NYCBL is a collegiate summer league that plays exactly like a regular minor league system, only the players aren't paid so that they can maintain their NCAA status. The NYCBL went on to take over all of the old ballparks that Minor League Baseball abandoned throughout New York. The Golden Eagles have been a tremendous success in Glens Falls & they have made this quirky stadium their own.
