The first team to call this home would be the White Sox who moved their Double-A team into East Field. The new "Glens Falls White Sox" drew 86,000 in their first season and amazingly, broke the 100,000 mark in 1981. They finished the 1981 season in first place behind the incredible hitting display of Ron Kittle, who hit 40 HRs and hit .326 with 103 RBI. Greg Walker joined in hitting 33 doubles, 22 HRs and batting .321. It appeared that East Field was going to be a hitter's park. The team continued to draw into the 90k mark until 1983 when they finished close to last place and drew only 64,000.
