They would lose the playoffs yet again in 1952 before sinking to last place in '53. They made it back to the playoffs in 1954 (and lost again). Then something special happened in Monroe. In 1955, the Sports got their first PDC and it was a big one... Monroe became the new Class C home for the New York Yankees. Bob Maness led the league in Hits (147) and Runs (109) while Marshall Gilbert led the league meanwhile in HRs (19) and RBI (107).  Edward Dick led in ERA (1.77).
