The Single-A Pirates would call this home for a total of 3 years before giving way to the New York Yankees organization. The Yankees took over in 1987 and renamed the team, the "Prince William Yankees". In 1988, Bernie Williams made his debut with Prince William, and made quite an impression by hitting .335 with 16 doubles, 7 triples and 7 home runs. He also stole 29 bases. Gerald Williams and Kevin Maas also played for the PW Yankees. Maas would slam 12 homers in only 104 at bats
