Within a year of the Rainiers discovering the Polo Grounds... Palm Springs attracted
its first Major League team. In 1951, Nellie Fox and the Chicago White Sox
moved out of Pasadena's Brookside Park and began training at the Polo Grounds.
It would be a brief relationship. In 1952, the White Sox would move to southeast
to El Centro's Stark Field before eventually winding up in Tampa's Al Lopez Field. |
