In the end, Baseball City would be a bust and the huge royal blue Baseball City Stadium
would face the ole' wrecking ball. Port Charlotte Stadium however would
find a much better fate and several years after being abandoned by the Texas Rangers,
it would be renovated and spruced up and become the spring home of the Tampa
Bay Rays. The Royals and the Rangers meanwhile quickly became comfortable
in their new spring home and each would begin playing |
much better baseball throughout the season because of it. While
neither as of this writing had a World Series Championship in their hands after
moving to Arizona, Surprise Stadium would produce a World Series team in the
Texas Rangers in 2010 and 2011 and a ray of hope could actually be seen glimmering
over the Kansas City Royals. |
