With its earthy desert colors and simple but striking layout, HoHoKam Park II is one of the  oldest ballparks still used today for Spring Training (along with Phoenix Muni and Scottsdale Stadium) but it has an undeniable character that we are certainly going to miss, as this ballpark may be looking at the final years of its lifecycle. There is more than just talk about a replacement stadium for this giant, nearly 13,000 seat baseball arena (the largest Spring Training Ballpark in existence)… and there is absolutely no good reason for it. This ballpark is a great addition to Cactus League MLB Spring Training and while its history is quite extensive, this actual ballpark they way it stands today, was only built in 1997 and we find it hard to believe that a 13,000 seat stadium built only 15 years earlier is already antiquated enough to be abandoned forever.
