Spring Home of the
Goodyear Ballpark (and its surrounding baseball complexes) were created as part of the Arizona Sports Authority's new projects which have been very prolific as of late. Goodyear Ballpark was built to the tune of $108 million dollars by HOK Sport (now known as Populous). It is the second (and obviously final) attempt to bring professional baseball to Goodyear. The town had tried to get a ballpark completed back in 2004 in order to lure the Angels from their nearby Tempe home, Tempe Diablo Stadium... but the Angels got a $20 million dollar makeover to keep them from abandoning their home park. 5 years later, and they got not one but two teams to leave their respective ballparks to call this little Phoenix suburb home.
