Long Island has been longing for professional baseball, for many years. Unfortunately,
it was not to be. There is something called the "Anti-Trust exemption" in
Major and Minor League baseball. What it means to us is... both the Mets and the
Yankees, have the right to keep a professional affiliated team (Major or Minor
Leagues), from coming within 75 miles of their ballpark. They've exercised this
right, often. |
