Of the 4 new stadiums, Harbor Yard was perhaps the most visually intersting. Running away from the typically tranquil country or busy city landscapes of ballparks past, Harbor Yard dared to go industrial. Built at the base of a power plant, commuter trains zip by right above home run territory and are actually quite a good target for power hitters. The blue collar view is completely impressive and the gamble paid off well. New ballparks being built today are now utilizing industrial views because of Harbor Yards innovative thinking. For example, Gary Indiana has recently built a new ballpark for the Northern League, at the base of its steel factories.
