The 4 year run by the Yankees was an incredible one. 3 consecutive titles and a wealth of talent. Unfortunately in 1982, attendance dropped to 12,000 sending the Yankees running for cover. It was a sign of bad things to come as the Brewers came to Paintsville and tried to bring some exciting play. Despite the fact that the Brewers played excellent baseball, Paintsville mourned the loss of the Yankees as only 8,000 came out to Fyffe Field all season. What they missed was yet another 46-24 (.657) trademark season, and an amazing host of future talent. 4 out of 5 of the Paintsville Brewers rotation would go on to have great Major League careers.
