Fyffe Field was actually 3 sections of solid concrete stadium. A section down each line, and one behind the plate. The oddest thing about the ballpark is that the infield sections were covered, but behind the plate had no roof. The slate blue and red color combination on cement made the stadium almost a miniture clone to Zanesville's Gant Field. The Paintsville Yankees made the absolute most of this home facility in 1979. The team was led by future impact players like Otis Nixon (.286, 10 2B, 5 SB), 17 year old Greg Gagne (.179) and Pete Filson (9-0, 1.68) who would go on to play in 7 MLB seasons. Frank Ricci (7-0, 1.77) and
Michael Free (6-0, 1.61) rounded out the unhittable rotation.
